The Aston Martin DB7 was originally introduced in September 1994. Designed by Ian Callum and Keith Helfet it was the most successful model ever produced by Aston Martin.
Built at Bloxham near Banbury at the home of the Jaguar XJ220 the 12 cylinder version or Vantage as it was known was introduced in 1999 and featured an all new Aston Martin 5.9 litre V12. This 48 valve Quad cam engine made by Cosworth Technologies produced 420 BHP and 400 Ft Ibs of torque. This final version of the DB7 was also available as a convertible and named Volante. Amongst these revisions the car was fitted with larger Brembo brakes, revised suspension including Bilstein shock absorbers and higher rate springs. This was combined with a revised front structure with increased strength and rigidity. The net result of these changes make the final version of the model the most sorted and driveable version of the DB7.
