A Summer of Italian, British and German Motoring Events at The Hub

Italian, British and German Themed Motoring Events at The Classic Motor Hub in 2019

After a fantastic program of motoring events at The Classic Motor Hub in 2018, we are looking to make this year’s events diary even more special. 2018 brought fantastic weather which in turn encouraged our visitors and clients to bring their classic and sports cars to the Hub for a great Sunday morning of motoring and caffeine. We estimate that last year we welcomed over 2500 cars and 6000 people through our gates to display and chat, and this year we’re expecting even more!

For 2019 we have some exciting changes planned for our calendar. The first Coffee and Classics kicks off on 7th April and visitors will be welcomed as always with the latest Motor Mart, our very own tongue-in-cheek magazine. Expect more fun crosswords, sage horoscope advice and recommendations for a good pub lunch after your visit to the Hub. In 2019 are producing 4 editions of Motor Mart (one every quarter), so make sure you sign up for several events throughout the season!

Last year we chose to feature single marques in our events calendar, hosting individual Aston Martin, Porsche and Jaguar motoring events which were a great success. However, for 2019 we are changing things up a little and are excited to bring single nationality days which will highlight the best cars produced by Italian, British and German marques. First up is the Coffee & Italian Classics day on Sunday 5th May followed by British on 7th July and then German on 1st September.

For these individual nation days, we are pulling out all the stops to make them really exciting events. We will be featuring bands playing themed music (check out the links below), we will be offering traditional food, think Bratwurst and bangers for German and Best of British and Mediterranean themes for the Italian day. Furthermore, we will be asking our friends to borrow some very special cars to display on the gravel podium in front of the showrooms. If these motoring events are even half as successful as last year you can expect to see some very rare and historic metal indeed, so watch this space!

For these special events we will be charging a small fee of £5 to cover the extra costs involved. All other Coffee and Classics will be free to attend as usual but make sure you register online well in advance.

At Italian day on Sunday 5th of May, you can expect to hear the beautiful Italian-inspired music of Hetty & the Jazzato Band. Here’s a flavour of their music:

With British day on Sunday 7th July we’re welcoming back Hub favourites The Strays to get the atmosphere going with some British rock classics:

On our final German-themed event on Sunday 1st September we are going full-on Bavarian with The Oompah Band:

New for this year we have refurbished the shop to include our very own Hub Coffee House. We have invested in a professional barista coffee machine, and taken all the courses from local coffee supplier Rave Coffee to offer the best Cappuccino in Ablington. The Hub Coffee House is also open throughout the week and on Saturdays so do stop by if you feel like an alternative to the traditional coffee shop set up!

We also have some new and exciting merchandise to offer including Hub hats, aprons and a refreshed selection of automobilia – ideal for birthday presents and thank you gifts for your favourite petrol head.

Lastly we have also taken the Hub Grub Kitchen in to our own hands and are proud to offer the most extensively-researched and considered bacon roll in history. The Hub team have tried 5 different local suppliers of bacon, road testing streaky and back bacon from each and have chosen the perfect brioche bun, decided between toasted or un-toasted and voted for their favourite combination… As you can tell, we have been busy over winter. The result is a bacon roll well worth getting up for on a Sunday morning.

We look forward to seeing you at our events this year to have a chat and browse our showrooms!
