Every year during the height of Spring, The Classic Motor Hub takes part in the national Drive-It day celebration. This year the date is set for 28th April 2019 and by encouraging people to get out their classic and vintage cars and take them for a drive, helps to raise awareness of the large classic car scene here in the UK.
We have partnered with Footman James and organised a tour from the historic Chateau Impney hotel track near Droitwich along a pre-determined scenic route on which an eclectic mix of 50 vehicles will travel on their way across the Cotswolds to The Classic Motor Hub for our Drive It Day event. Now in its second year the tour sold out extremely quickly, but there are still spaces left to bring your classic or vintage car to The Hub.
Started several years ago by The Federation of British Historic Vehicle Clubs, the Federation is a grouping of over 450 clubs and museums together with some 1500 trade and individual supporters. Their aim is to support their member organisations and uphold the freedom to use old vehicles on the roads without any undue.
As such, Drive-It Day celebrates everything we love here at the Classic Motor Hub. The Hub thrives on interest and passion in the classic car community and – being confirmed petrolheads ourselves – we encourage owners to drive their cars as much as possible. Drive-It day gives the classic car community a unified day to dust off whatever you have tucked away in the garage and join the tens of thousands of car-bores on the roads in the glorious spring sunshine (we hope!).
As always we will be serving bacon rolls from the Hub Grub kitchen and our very own coffee shop will be open for all to sample. On the 28th April join in the celebration from 10am – 1pm and you will be sure to see hundreds of other cars enjoying their machinery. To join in the party at the Hub, be sure to sign up on our website. Entry is free as always and open to any classic or vintage car/motorcycle.
