VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

The MGB was launched in 1963 as a replacement of the extremely popular MGA. Kept in production until 1980, the MGB was and is one of the most famous and popular British sports cars of the 60’s and 70’s with a huge following today.

This huge popularity and continued following means that there are huge resources for acquiring spare parts and upgrading the cars to make them more usable. Due to the numbers produced the MGB hasn’t quite reached the market values where a nut and bolt restoration would make any economical sense, however, there are always exceptions.

This 1966 MGB V8 Roadster for sale at The Classic Motor Hub is one of those exceptions and then some. Renowned specialists CCHL in Hull take a donor MGB and using a strengthened heritage shell a full ground-up restoration commences, all to the exact specification of the customer. However, instead of fitting the original 1.8 litre four cylinder back in, they source a 3.5 Litre Rover V8, strip it down and totally rebuild it like new.

Since completion this bespoke machine is an absolute delight on the road, the V8 engine not only providing the most wonderful of growls through those twin exhausts, but a seemingly never ending wave of torque and power allowing for either a leisurely cruise or spirited drive down some twisty back roads with the effortless power hurling you at every approaching corner. It truly is the MGB V8 Roadster they wanted to and should have built earlier and while the RV8 ticked certain boxes, it lacked the classic 60’s looks and feel.

This fabulous MGB V8 Roadster for sale at The Classic Motor Hub awaits its next prospective owner. If a classic British sports car looks with modern reliability and a thumping V8 appeals to you, then hurry up and give us a call!
