The early Giulia differed little outwardly from their predecessor, the 101 series Giulietta , the key difference being the enlarged 1600cc engine but all this changed when the Sprint GT was launched in 1963. With the opening of a new factory in Arese, the model was redesign in a much more modern coachwork penned by Carrozzeria Bertone’s Giorgetto Giugiaro, with a bold new straight fronted grill and 4-seater bodywork. The design was beautiful and launched Alfa into their next era of cars.
THIS MOTOR CAR
The Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 we are proud to offer here is a rare, original UK market, right-hand drive car that has been fully restored and must surely be one of the best examples in the country. 1st register in the UK on the 21st of March 1974, this car has had just 5 keepers including the current owner and it retains its original number plate. The car was subject to a full restoration by Alfa specialists Veloce Sport in Heckington in 2017 at a cost of £32,000. The work carried out was extensive as you can imagine and there is a nice collection of invoices and photographs that show the work being done. The more significant work included the body being stripped, repaired and repainted, rebuilt engine, rebuilt gearbox, new clutch, new wiring loom, new exhaust, new fuel tank and a new interior. As with all restorations there was also quite a long shake down as well and this has been done to exhaustive lengths by the current owner so the car really done want for nothing.
This is a wonderfully presented, rare, right-hand drive, UK Alfa Romeo GTV 2000 that is ready to be enjoyed by its next lucky owner.
