In recent years the Porsche RSR Tribute market has gone from strength to strength. With donor vehicles having increased in value, the re-creation process is now rather time-consuming and costly, and some examples can even be found utilising genuine RSR components and even more specialised engineering techniques.
Based on a 1985 Porsche 911 Carrera 3.2 litre, this tribute has been substantially re-engineered to pay homage to the legendary RSR. The professional conversion was completed in 2011 by an established Porsche engineer for his own pleasure and utilises many parts by RS-Teknik – a subsidiary of respected Porsche dealer and restorer Paul Stephens. Finished in Porsche Red, and with a stripped-down interior that features period bucket sports seats, new Willans harnesses and rally timers. Power comes from a tuned 3.2 flat-six and uprated suspension, ignition system and brakes and a stainless exhaust system have been fitted, as well as a set of Fuchs alloy wheels.
This fiercely enjoyable RSR recreation has been well serviced and used sparingly for many years having once been part of a small but respectable collection. This RSR recreation now represents a superb addition to any enthusiast’s collection and will provide a hugely enjoyable and visceral experience for its next caring owner.
