Omologato Evolution of Quadrifoglio Watch

£370.00

This Quadrifoglio watch from Omologato is a stunning homage to Alfa Romeo’s finest with a brushed silver steel dial featuring the cloverleaf, the red and blue of Alfa Romeo’s racing clours and the word QUADRIFOGLIO lettered around the outer edge. The black leather strap is reminiscent in style to the many beautiful seats you’ll find in many beautiful Alfas of the 60s and 70s.

When it comes to the symbolism of red-blooded Italian racing and performance cars, the Quadrifoglio – or cloverleaf – stands for heritage and good fortune. The green four-leaf clover badging on an Alfa Romeo, and in turn Omologato’s newest wrist-wear, is a tribute to courage, speed and, specifically, a gentleman named Ugo Sivocci.

He was, by all accounts, a deeply superstitious chap. The Italian was an Alfa Corse works driver alongside Antonio Ascari and his best friend, Enzo Ferrari. By finishing perennially second, though, Sivocci was convinced the gods were against him. The four-leaf clover, with its long-considered luck-giving properties, seemed to supply the extra fortune Sivocci craved. “Quadrifoglio is one of those racing names that stir emotions of racing in its purest form” says Omologato founder Shami Kalra. “When designing this watch I wanted the wearer to be reminded of this great racing team and the 3 great racers Farina, Fagilo and Fangio who took Alfa Romeo to be the status of motor racing royalty in the 158. The colours used on the dial are a tribute to this famous marque.
