VEHICLE DESCRIPTION

This Jensen FF MkI is a rare and beautifully presented example.

Delivered new to Miss Sebag‑Montefiore and supplied through Ever Ready Garage in Dublin, the car originally left the factory in a special blue metallic over grey leather trim with a factory radio — details confirmed by the original pre‑delivery checklist and accompanying factory correspondence within the history file.

The first owner retained the car until the late 1970s, when it passed to an Irish musician and entrepreneur, and it remained well-loved until being acquired at auction in 2018.

Immediately after purchase the car was entrusted to Cropredy Bridge Garage — widely regarded as the world’s leading Jensen specialists — for a comprehensive and photographed restoration which was completed in 2019.

Work included fully stripping the body to bare metal, removal of any corrosion, repair of chassis tubes where required, and a bare‑metal repaint in Charcoal Grey.

The Chrysler‑sourced V8 was fully serviced and inspected; transmission, gearbox, suspension and all electrics were reconditioned to marque standard. The interior was sympathetically restored but deliberately left original in appearance to retain period character.

The restoration is fully invoiced and extensively documented with photographs; total restoration expenditure exceeded £100,000. Cropredy Bridge’s in‑house capabilities — body, engine, trimmers and parts — make them the definitive workshop for an FF restoration, and their work on this car reflects that expertise.

This Mk I, with its documented early history and showroom‑quality, Cropredy‑executed restoration, represents a desirable opportunity to acquire an FF that combines authentic provenance and meticulous workmanship.

MODEL HISTORY

The Jensen FF occupies an important place in 20th‑century motoring: introduced in 1966 as a technical tour de force, it was the first production passenger car to feature permanent four‑wheel drive (the Ferguson Formula system) and was an early adopter of anti‑lock braking (the Dunlop Maxaret system).

Built in very small numbers, the FF is far rarer than its Interceptor sibling and is prized by collectors for its engineering originality and GT refinement.

Powered by Chrysler’s large V8 engine and mated to a Torqueflite automatic transmission, the FF delivers relaxed high‑speed touring with superior all‑weather stability — traits that make it distinct among British grand tourers of the era.
